私の好きな女優の一人、ミシェル・ファイファーのデビュー作「Grease 2」で歌われたデュエット曲のLove Will Turn Back The Hands On Timeです


ミシェル・ファイファーが若いです！この映画ではヤンチャな女子高生を演じてますがその後彼女は品のある大人の女性としての数多くの映画に出演します。


それでは歌の英語を検証して行きましょう！

midnightは真夜中と言う意味です。英語は「朝に」「昼に」はin the morning. in the afternoonですが「夜に」「夜中に」はat night, at midnightと言います。

もう真夜中に貴方とバイクで走る事は無いのね
コッソリと会う事ももう無いのね
私はやる事・やらない事、全てを失うのね
私をたった一人ここに残した事が信じられないの

Turn back the hands of timeとはイディオムで「過去に戻る・過去を振り返る」と言う意味です。

覚えていて、愛しているんだ。遠くに行かないから。
君は瞳を閉じて昨日の事を思い出していて。
そうしたら二人一緒だから。
愛は過去に戻してくれるから。
戻してくれるからね。

Saveは「保存」「貯金」「控える」「蓄える」と多くの意味があります。

君の夢は全部心に残しておいて僕も閉じ込めてね。



Stephanie:

no matterは「どんなに〜しても」「〜にも関わらず」という意味です。

いくら頑張ってもさよならを言うのは苦しいの。



Michael:

僕たちが離れないといけなくなっても愛は存続するよ
